DOWNLOAD SRWGM_v0.1_Alpha.zip

(Mac & Linux ports available on completion, with source code)

Thought of sharing my current project with you guys here at SAGD. The project is 3 stage. First stage involves developing a cross platform game engine. Second stage is creating a tool set / game maker in which to make the game with. Lastly to develop the actual game. Currently I'm on stage 2. The game is a Super Robot Wars game, check on wiki for more details.

Been working on this project on and off in the past, but now I'm working on it full time. I will be releasing the prototype releases of the game maker soon, and source code in the future. This project is open source so you free to edit to meet your needs.

Hi dude.

This looks petty cool and it's great to see people creating their own engines.

Also, the structure of these type of games seem to be pretty much established.

Love the website and that music "almost" sounds like the classic midi music but its not because I can hear more advanced stuff in there. Very cool that.

Keep up the good work man :ugeek:

I love the simcity effect going on there. :)
Are those tiles only for demo purposes or is that part of the game project?

Those tiles are created by the tile artist we have on the project, so they are for the game.

The pic shows off the tile set and also the first tile map editor. I'm currently merging the tile editor into the SRW Game Maker.

Downloading as well.

[update] Played with it a bit. Created a map but was unable to load it via a saved .srw file.

Would have loved an undo via Ctrl+Z.

Also, why not load a default texture/tile map?

I see your using Qt. which is great! ... I just sometimes get weird compiler errors when using Qt; but thats my problem ;)
