Hi Everyone,

We are officially releasing the Bounty Arms Alpha Demo to the public to play. Best played with an Xbox 360 controller.

*Update:

With the help of Splat and the hard labour of Obi-Wan, we have now got our first UDK version out. The great thing is that it's now a standalone game and it doesn't require UT3 anymore.

This demo is basically the same as the UT3 mod version, but the UDK has a more updated version of the UE3 engine. So it has real time AO, dynamic lighting on enemies etc.

We've also added a few things, like working turrets, special ability bar, damage material indicator on the player and other small various little addons and tweaks.

Name: Bounty Arms
Version: 0.1 UDK
Compatibility: PC
Web: http://www.moddb.com/games/bountyarms
Blog: http://bounty-arms.blogspot.com/

Description:

Bounty Arms is an old-school 3d side-scrolling action game that utilizes modern technology from the Unreal Engine 3.

Over the course of the final game you gather power-ups that hugely alter your character and weapon arsenal, travel across the galaxy to many different worlds, unlock hidden doors to secrets, join with new comrades, fight the multitude of varying enemies that each world will bring, and defeat the bosses that rule them.

Thanks FyreWolfe. We've now started the process of moving the game over to UDK so it will be a standalone game, and not UT3 required. We hope that once this is done, more people can freely download and play it.

*Speechless*  this looks freaking great!!! Could you maybe start a tutorial on how to get started with UDK? Seeing that you look like you know UDK very well...

Thanks for the kind words :)

@ RaVen, the udk have some detailed video tutorials and have probably covered what you need here, and can probably explain it better than we can. They also have starting videos so it should help you out quite a bit. Hope these helps you:

Thanks.. The reason I asked is because I want to get new useful content and tutorials onto SAGD. I'm currently thinking of posting a guide to get started with actionscript game programming. BTW If you could show the community behind the scenes of some of your development proccess in a Development Journal like http://www.sagamedev.com/developerjournal_post.aspx?journalid=28 it would be great! :)

Regards
RaVen

Hey RaVen, we did start a development diary blog here, http://bounty-arms.blogspot.com/ but I think you want something with more of a break down with some pictures and videos. We're actually in the process of also preparing the models for rotationals and the sort, so once we have that I will start a behind the scenes type of Journal so everyone can see the process in a more in depth way. This will probably take a week and a bit to get the renders out and put everything together.
